Hazardous Materials and Spills in the Workplace – Canada
This course discusses proper handling of chemicals in the workplace and actions that can be taken to protect the workers, the public, and the environment. It also covers the roles and responsibilities of those responding to events involving hazardous materials. Est time: 1 hour
Fire Safety and Prevention 2.0
In this course, you’ll gain an understanding of the elements required for a fire to start and learn ways to prevent fires in the workplace. Time: 20 mins
This course has 5 modules: Workplace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Action; Moving from Bias to Inclusion in a DEI Journey, Recognizing and Addressing Micro-behaviors in the Workplace, Adopting an Inclusion Mindset at Work and Becoming a DEI Ally and Agent for Change Register
The workshop series contains four-modules to better understand the concepts of decolonization and two-eyed seeing. These topics can be useful for organizations looking to advance the TRC Calls to Action and MMIWG Calls for Justice. Register
The Finance: Accounting Basics program contains four courses which include: Accounting for Stock Transactions, Key Accounting Concepts and Principles, Preparing Financial Statements and Closing Accounts, and Recording, Posting, and Balancing the Books. Register
The Communication: Cross-Cultural Communication program contains 4 courses which include Bridging the Diversity Gap, How Culture Impacts Communication, Using Communication Strategies to Bridge Cultural Divides, and Your Role in Workplace Diversity. Register
The Managing Teams: Optimizing Performance on a Team program contains five courses which include: Being an Effective Team Member, Effective Team Communication, Establishing Team Goals and Responsibilities, and Using Feedback Effectively, Handling Team Conflict, and Strategies for Building a Cohesive Team. In this course, you will learn about ways to help you prevent noise-induced hearing loss. You’ll also learn about the purpose and components of a hearing conservation program, including the proper fitting, use, and care of hearing protectors. Est time: 20 mins. Register

The courses are offered as part of the Industry Training Program led by Nova Scotia’s Association of Industry Sector Councils (AISC). The program is made possible by funding from the Province of Nova Scotia – through the various Industry Sector Councils – to assist employers, employees, and provincial job seekers in acquiring valuable skills.
